Handmade Copse of Trees

Various handmade trees made using offcuts of locally grown hardwoods from the borderlands of Scotland. Handmade by Mike Dixon at the Handmade Craft House, Dumfries

These wonderful handmade tree decorations by Mike from offcuts of timber left after making his frames and chopping boards.

They are roughly finished and are charming on their own, but particularly so when grouped together in a little Copse.

As you can see, when grouped together the variety of the woods used – Ash, Beech, Elm, Oak, Sycamore – achieve a beautiful range of colour, texture and pattern which makes each Copse unique! Each piece of timber used is grown locally in the borderlands of Scotland.

These are available in our Dumfries store and Online either individually or in randomly selected “Copses” of 3 or 5 trees (£8.99, £26 and £42 respectively)

Wonderful Wildlife in Beautiful Bronze

Stag Bronze by Richard Cooper and Company at the Handmade Craft House1

We love these fantastic limited edition bronzes by Richard Cooper and Company. A lot of ‘bronzes’ that are available on the market are merely resin that has been painted to look like bronze. These pieces however, have been cast in solid bronze from finely sculpted originals.

Each has the sculptor’s mark and edition number stamped on the base and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity. Richard Cooper and Company’s work is highly collectable and these make a great gift for any nature lover.
